Thucydides: was an Athenian genral and political historian who practiced philosophy. His "History of the Peloponnesian War" recall events from the war between Sparta and Athens to the year 411 BC
Thucydides' Greek is notoriously difficult to understand, but the language of "Pericles Funeral Oration" is said to be the most difficult passage in the History of the Peloponnesian War to read.
